The Mrs. Rev Podcast: The Space Called Grace

Grace is a divine empowerment from God to accomplish His purpose for your life.

Have you ever asked God, “What do you want to do with my life?” The moment that you make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior, His purpose and plan for your life is activated! Proverbs 20:5 (NIV) says “The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out.” The more you spend time with God, the more wisdom you will get and a greater understanding of your purpose.

When people try to accomplish God’s plan in their own strength, the work feels hard. Many people become frustrated because they feel like they are just trying to fulfill the call of God on their life. Of course, work is not always going to feel easy, but when you are in the grace of God, you will be able to feel peace and joy while you are doing what He has called you to do.

The space of grace looks different in every season of your life. When you are a young mom, you might not be doing things that look like they are directly related to your dreams and vision for your life. Don’t think that you missed your calling! Guard your heart and let God use you in the season that you are in.

The enemy would like nothing more than to misalign your life’s purpose and to take you out of that space of grace. His grace is always with you, even when it is expressed in different ways according to the season of life that you are in. When you stay in the space of grace, you have protection and provision.

3 Reasons you might not be in the space of grace

Being comfortable with where you are will keep you from moving with God. Sometimes God is ready to take you to the next step, but you are too happy where you are! Constantly pray and ask God where He wants you to be and be sensitive to His direction.

Feeling like you have to figure it all out. There is a fine balance between relying on God to do everything and feeling like you need to do everything in your own strength.

I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me. (Psalm 57:2 ESV)

Getting caught in the trap of comparison: It can be hard to see your own strength or purpose. You might even think it’s nothing special because it is so easy for you. But God created the body of Christ with many unique gifts and talents.

Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them. (Romans 12:6a)

Comparing your talents with others, either in a boastful way or an envious way will lead you to miss out on God’s grace for your life! If you try to chase someone else’s purpose without grace, it will bring frustration and confusion.

We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise. (2 Corinthians 10:12 NIV)

Let’s just go ahead and be what we were made to be without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves. (Romans 12:6-8 MSG)

Don’t allow yourself to think that you are less special because you see different fruit in someone else’s life. Choose to stay in the space of grace so that you can feel God’s pleasure in everything you do.

Pray this: God, thank you for giving me the grace to accomplish everything that you have called me to do. Help me to avoid complacency. Help me not to overthink my calling but to remember that you are the one who gave it to me and who will know exactly how I can accomplish it. Help me to clearly see whether or not I am in the space of grace. If I am not in line with your will, give me the humility to quickly correct my course and to submit to your leadership. I love you and want to please you with everything I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
