The Mrs. Rev Podcast: Clean Up Your Confession

Sometimes it feels good to just say how you are feeling, but did you know that your words have the power to create your reality? In this week’s episode of the Mrs. Rev Podcast, we discuss how to tame your tongue and how to accomplish the Will of God for your life.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” Proverbs 18:2

If you speak negatively, you will continue to see negative things in your life, but if you speak blessing, you will see positive things happen.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2

When you remind yourself of what God says about your life and situation, you will begin to see and speak like He does. You are not called to live like the world, so you shouldn’t speak like the world either!

Try this: Say “so be it” after everything you say and see how it feels. Are you speaking things that you want to see in your life? Check your confession today. For everything that you said that you do NOT want to see in your life, come up with a positive confession that you can say instead! Base your confession on the Word of God.

“Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things.” James 3:4-5

What are you speaking into your life? Your marriage? Your children? Your family? It is not enough to refrain from speaking negatively; you need to proactively speak positively! Your tongue will determine the direction your life will go.

The world says that you just have to deal with sickness, poverty, anxiety, depression, and fear. As a child of God, you don’t have to live that way! God says that you can declare His Word of your mouth and see those things lift off your life. Blessings and curses cannot both come out of your mouth. Decide today that you will only speak blessings out of your mouth.

Your words have the power to create your reality.

Remember, the enemy will always speak lies. If it doesn’t line up with the Word of God, it is not true! Use your voice to talk back to the enemy. You will walk in victory and a new level of peace and joy. Say “Amen!” to the abundant life God called you to walk in.

Pray this: God, thank you for giving me your Word. I know that I can trust what you say, and I am so thankful that you have good plans for me and my family. Help me to stay focused on what your Word says and your promises. Forgive me for any time that I have spoken without thinking. Help me to see my life through your eyes and not my own eyes. Help me to grow in self-control and to use my tongue in a way that benefits and does not harm me. I love you! In Jesus’ name, amen.
