The Gift of Grace

If you could see God like He sees you, you would feel so much confidence and peace. Too often, we feel shame because we feel like we are not measuring up to other people. But when you set your standard based on the word of God and what He has called you to do, you will experience freedom and grace! After all, there is no shame for those who are in Christ! Today we will talk about how to stop walking in shame and start walking in who God has called you to be.

Shame does not produce anything that is in alignment with what God says about us. Shame is a feeling of being incapable or unworthy like you will never measure up.

Q: What causes feelings of shame in your own life? Your past sins and behaviors or your current abilities? Pray and ask God to reveal that answer to you so that you can find freedom!

God has created you with a wonderful, specific purpose. No one else is exactly like you, and therefore no one else has the same exact calling as you! Before He even knew you, He had a purpose and a plan for your life.

Even if you understand God's purpose, you may be tempted to ask if you are doing “enough” to fulfill the plan. You may even compare yourself to other wives, businesswomen, mothers, or caretakers. The projections of other people’s lives will create a shadow of shame. Instead of comparing yourself to other people, compare yourself to God’s will for you. He never wants you to feel like you are failing; he wants to give you the confidence that His grace will help you achieve his will for your life!

Pray this: Father God, thank you for making me and for knowing me uniquely. Help me to keep my eyes fixed on you. I want to be exactly who you called me to be. Help me to only measure myself against Your Word. Correct me when I’m trying to be someone other than who you have called me to be. In Jesus’ name, amen!
