The Mrs. Rev Podcast: It's Not Over Yet!

As this episode is being recorded, we are over halfway through 2020, and since March many of us have seen our businesses, ministries, and family life slow down significantly due to COVID-19.

Normally, I am excited to look at my goals. But recently I found myself a little nervous. Was I still on track? Did I need to make some adjustments? Did I dream too big? As I looked in the back of my planner at my goals, I was surprised (and thrilled!) to see that I was actually on track to reach all of my goals for 2020!

“I am the LORD, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?” - Jeremiah 32:27

God was not surprised by the events that have happened this year. He did not change His plans, and neither should you! Think about the story of Esther. What seemed like a series of random events was actually used by God to save His people! How could God be using this situation to make His plans for you come to pass?

If you’re struggling to believe that there is more for you in 2020 or whatever season of life you are in, remember these three things:

  1. If God spoke it, He meant it!

Don’t be discouraged when the path to the promise looks different than you thought it would. God gave you the promise, but there is a process that will take you there. God is working in the middle of the process!

Think about the story of Joseph in Genesis. He had dreams that his brothers would bow down to him. When his brothers tried to end that dream, God still had a plan! As a child of God, you can trust that you are never left to figure out God’s plans alone. You can trust Him!

Q: What dream or goal looks like it is not going to come to pass? Ask God to show you how He is using your current situation to fulfill His promise!

  2. Determine what you can do and what God can do.

You have a role to play in seeing your dreams come to pass. It would be easy to say that you will not have the same opportunities this year because of the pandemic, but that is not your responsibility! Your responsibility is to be prepared.

Once again, think back to the story of Joseph. Through everything that happened in his life, Joseph was faithful in his work ethic and his character. Ultimately, these are the very things that helped him stand out!

If you are faithful in what only you can do, God will be faithful in what only He can do.

Q: Ask yourself what you can do right now to stay consistent and to build your character. What will you need to go to the next level?

  3. Remember that grace will bring it to pass.

You do not have to do everything in your strength. With or without coronavirus, you need God’s strength! Rely on Him and His strength every day.

Q: Do you struggle to rely on God for grace? Why or why not? What advice would you give to a friend if they said that they were struggling to rely on God for grace?

Pray this: Father God, thank you for creating a perfect plan for my life, and thank you for never leaving me to figure it out on my own. Help me to trust you, do my part, and rely on you for grace. I’m sorry for any time that I have tried to run my own life or have allowed a negative situation to derail my faith. I know that your plans are good, and today I am choosing to stand on your promises! I cannot wait to see what you do in this situation, and I promise to give you all the glory. I love you, God! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
