Boldly Moving On

How do you respond when you go through difficult seasons? Sometimes we go through things that seem unthinkable. A friend betrays us. A loved one dies suddenly. But as women of God, we are called to live boldly and move forward even when we have gone through the unthinkable. You can’t live boldly, however, if you are allowing your mind and your soul to be weighed down by your past experiences. This week, I’m encouraging you to boldly confront the situations that have held you back. Specifically, we’ll talk about three areas that you need to keep in front of you so that you can walk in faith!

  1. Offense - People will treat you badly at some point. And while the pain that may cause is real, God doesn’t want you to carry it with you. If you make the hard choice to boldly forgive the people who have hurt you, God will give you the grace to do it.

  2. Disappointment - Sometimes you limit your faith because you didn’t see God answer your prayer in the past. No matter what happens in your life, you can be sure that God’s character is still the same! Take a look at the 2 Kings 4:8-37. How does the Shunammite woman change the way she views God and miracles through the story? How does her story inspire your faith?

  3. Pain and Loss - Whether it is the loss of a loved one, loss of time, or loss of experience, these situations can also cause real pain. The problem is when you stay in that place of mourning so long that you never move on from it and you start to let it define you. Remember, your identity is in Christ! Nothing can change that. Today, ask Him to show you who you are in Him and to help you move forward in faith and to keep your eyes on Him and His goodness.

Pray this: Father, thank you for your Holy Spirit that so gently leads me. Thank you for showing me if there is any offense, disappointment, or pain that I am holding onto. Give me the grace to let it go and to move forward in faith. Let there be restoration and healing quickly, in Jesus’ name. I’m choosing to trust in you and your goodness, God. Amen!
