The Waiting Season

“How do you stay encouraged and focused and not become complacent in the season of waiting?”

Staying encouraged in a season of waiting for your breakthrough can be a risky place for our flesh to be. However, it is important to remember that a promise is an invitation to a process. Waiting can look like seeking direction on where you should go or waiting for a specific word from Him.

No matter what your waiting season looks like, it can feel like a waste; but God's promise says otherwise. It is easy to become impatient. Becoming impatient takes away the focus of what God is trying to do in you. This is exactly where the enemy wants to sneak in and force your focus onto things like doubt, unbelief, and discouragement.

What do you do while you are in your waiting season? Remember these steps while you wait.

  1. Remind yourself often of the promise.

  2. Rehearse the right thoughts.

  3. Renew and recite the Word.

  4. Remember what God has done in the past.

  5. Resist discouragement.

  6. Recognize what He is doing in the now.

Remember, God is faithful. God’s promise on your life does not have an expiration date. Stay encouraged! You never know how close you are to your breakthrough, so don’t give up, and don’t stop believing. Stay in faith, and God will make it happen for you!
