The Mrs. Rev Podcast: Getting Things In Order

What do you do when your life feels out of control? One great example of a woman in the Bible who knew how to put things back in order was Deborah. Deborah was a wife and leader of Israel.

”Now Deborah, a prophet, the wife of Lappidoth, was leading Israel at that time. She held court under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went up to her to have their disputes decided.” Judges 4:4-5

In other words, Deborah did two things: she prophesied and she put things in order.

When your life feels out of control, you need to speak to your situation and then create a structure to put things in order! Don’t wait for someone else to do it for you. Say it with me: I am in control of my life!

You can control your time by creating a time-blocked schedule.

  1. First, determine what the first hour of your day should look like. (Prayer, Bible Reading, Exercise, etc.)

  2. Then fill in weekly meetings, practices, or events.

  3. Finally, create time where you can do the extra things you want to do.

You can also control your time by delegating.

There are some things that you can delegate, but there are also some things that only you can do! Figure out how you can work smarter instead of harder and focus on the activities you most want and need to do.

No one else can direct your schedule. You are put by God in authority over your life and stuff. They don’t dictate to you. You dictate it to them! The power is in your hands. Decide what you can do to prosper in whatever season of life you are in and do it!

Pray this: Father God, thank you for leading me and teaching me how to prosper. You are a good God and I know that you lead me through any situation I face. As I look for ways to organize my life, give me creative ideas. Help me not to be so prideful that I hold onto things I should delegate. Help me to stick to a structure that will help me live a productive and joyful life. In Jesus’ name, amen!
