MrsRev Podcast: Do You See It?

As we enter a new year, many people talk about creating goals. However, in order to have goals, you have to first have vision! Vision is the big picture, what you see your life looking like.

So, what do you want your life to look like?

Everyone is called to a purpose, and everyone has a responsibility to use their family, talents, time, and money to bring glory to God. You cannot create a vision for your life on your own. God created you with specific plans and purposes for your life.

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

In the parable of the talents, we learn that God has given each of us different gifts and that we are responsible for using our own gifts and talents. Don’t get caught in the trap of comparison. God has a unique purpose for you that may not look the same as the purWhen you focus on what God has called you to do, you will bring him glory.

“I glorified you on earth by completing down to the last detail what you assigned me to do.” John 17:4

“And the Lord answered me: Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.” Habakkuk 2:2

If you can’t see the vision for your life clearly, you won’t move toward it quickly. You might even take a detour. However, when you get a vision from God, you will be able to run quickly.

"The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why." - Mark Twain

“For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.” Habakkuk 2:3

Q: Going into 2020, ask God what His vision for your life is. Decide to get on board with His plans and make supernatural progress toward them.

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” - Psalm 37:4

God wants you to dream with him! Know that His plans for you are good. God’s plans for you are not elaborate or complicated. God’s plans are not too hard! No matter what you have seen or not seen in your life, take your guard down and dream with God.

If you’re serious about getting a vision for your life, you need to:

  1. Put the past to rest.

  2. Know that it’s not about you. It’s something bigger than you that will impact generations to come.

  3. Explore your passions and your talents

  4. Spend time with people that you want to emulate

  5. Envision what you want your life to look like.

  6. Don’t limit yourself. Dream Big!

  7. Ask people you trust for their feedback.

  8. Be flexible.

  9. Ask!

Pray it out - Father God, thank you for the plans and vision that you have for me. Help me to acknowledge the gifts and the talents you have given me and not get stuck in the trap of comparison. I open my heart to hear from you. Show me the vision and the plan that you have for my life. God, I want everything I do to bring glory to you. Thank you for showing me the plans you set apart for me and for giving me the grace, patience, and courage to fulfill every one of them. In Jesus name, Amen.
