Life-changing Habits

Have you ever found that it's easy to implement a new habit, but it's hard to stick with it? Many people have great goals and intentions but struggle to create the habits to support them. Achieving your dreams starts with understanding the mindset behind creating habits for success. Today, I'm sharing tips to help you stay motivated, conquer bad habits, and become the person God has called you to be!

We are called to operate under self-discipline.

A habit is something you do regularly, whether consciously or subconsciously. You have to have the discipline to cause your habits to come into alignment with your dreams. You will learn to do the things you don't want to do, or you will live a life full of regret.

It's easy to feel disciplined when you've announced that you will start writing a blog every week or start a new job. But your habits are what will sustain you when the excitement wears off.

Micro habits: The building-blocks of habits. If you want to create a new habit like exercise, start by incorporating a micro habit like putting your sneakers on as soon as you get out of bed or parking further away from your office building. Over time these micro habits will have a large effect!

Macro habits: Your natural actions and responses, including emotional reactions. Often these are habits like withdrawing or lashing out when you feel offended. These kinds of habits can keep you from your destiny. If you want to rewrite your story, you must reject that thought pattern! Speak the Word over your life and choose to change the way you respond to stress.

Don't get discouraged!

Imagine the prize, and connect to your why. Remember that small progress in the right direction will bring you success!

Pray this: Father God, thank you for being patient with me and giving me the power to do what you have called me to do. I'm sorry for every time I have failed to steward my life the way you desire. Help me to develop self-discipline through your spirit. Give me wisdom in knowing how to change my habits to glorify you. In Jesus' name, amen!
