The Perfect Fall Table

All the Fall Vibes

Seriously, all the fall vibes in this post! I can almost smell the apple cider and feel the brisk autumn air! Even though we are experiencing a typical mid- September Indian summer, my fall decor is in full swing! Out of all the seasons to decorate, fall is my favorite!

This pic is from last fall’s edition of the Elle Journal magazine, but it is my ideal, most perfect, fall table scape. In my perfect world, we would be able to feast of Thanksgiving dinner outside on a deck or in the middle of my yard sitting on bales of hay. However, Pennsylvania is a bit more brisk in November, but can you blame a girl for daydreaming?

To create this table scape, I used only what I had on hand. Featured in this pic are my favorite fall plates from Potterybarn. I opted to just purchase the salad plates. I find its more affordable to splurge on accented salad plates mixed with plain white dinner plates. This gives the look without breaking the bank. Even thought these plates have turkeys on them, I use them from September - November. I just love them, and as an interior designer once quoted, “Have something in every room that makes you smile.” These plates make me smile!

Let Your Creativity Bloom

As far as decorations, I love using live florals! I’m always looking around my yard ( or along the roadside) for wildflowers and foliage I can use to decorate with. In fact, I don’t limit it to table scapes, I fill bud vases year round with florals and pines from my yard or garden! For this pic, I literally took scissors out to my yard and pillaged anything that looked even remotely fall! A snip here and there around the yard and there you have it.. a beautiful flower arrangement!

Rustic Glam

To add a little bit of glam to the rustic feel of a fall table scape, I love to mix in crystal. In general I love the mix of old and new, rustic and sparkly.. something about this mix always catches my eye. Maybe it’s the beauty in the unexpected or maybe it’s the shabby chic, either way I love it! I mix crystal into the look through candlesticks, and footed drinking goblets. What I love about crystal is that you can find the look anywhere, I can’t tell you how many times Ive been walking through TJ Max or the Dollar Store and have seen pretty crystal pieces! Pretty doesn’t have to be expensive, I personally like the challenge of creating something beautiful on a budget!

Create Something Beautiful

As fun as it is to create a pretty table, it’s the people around the table that make it special! I hope this fall brings many happy moments around your table with the family and friends that you love most! Make the atmosphere beautiful and then enjoy the beauty of the people around your table!!

Happy Creating!!
