Breaking Unhealthy Cycles

Do you ever feel like you are stuck in an unhealthy cycle? Maybe you keep sinning when you don’t want to. Maybe you get stuck in bad patterns with relationships. The good news is that God has given you the power to get out of those bad cycles and create new, healthy cycles! Today we’ll be talking about how to identify the negative cycles in your life and how to replace them with positive ones.

What area comes to mind for you when you think about negative cycles? Is there an area of your life where you want to make progress but you keep going back to your old nature?

Take some time and pray about and ask God how you can follow these two steps and start making new cycles!

  1. Identify the cycle and where it comes from.

  2. Start sowing good seed.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2

Keep moving forward! Don’t let condemnation stop you from bringing your situation to God. He is faithful and will give you divine wisdom and direction to get free from those cycles. Your role is simply to ask and be obedient.

Pray this: Father God, thank you for giving me the power to overcome negative cycles. I give every past situation over to you. Help me to walk in freedom from it so that I can do what you have called me to do. Help me to quickly recognize the dysfunctional cycles in my life and give me the humility to admit that I need your help. Thank you for your loving kindness and grace! I love you! In Jesus’ name, amen.
