SHOW NOTES:
It’s human nature to surround ourselves with like-minded people. We gravitate towards those who align with our beliefs and agree with us.
When it comes to the thoughts and mindsets that come to you daily, who are you agreeing with?
There is great power in agreement. Unfortunately, the enemy loves to get us to agree with things that are contrary to the promises found in God’s Word. Before we know it, we can start to say amen to the wrong things and fall prey to the enemy’s lies. As children of God, Satan has no power in our lives unless we give it to him. One way to do that is by the power of agreement.
Every one of us is anointed for something. Not only are you anointed, but you have appointments in this life waiting for your anointing to thrive, however, for every anointing, there will be giants to try to take you out. The enemy does not want you to take territory you’ve been born on this earth to take. He wants you in a place where you allow voices of negativity to drown out the voice of God.
In the Bible, after David was anointed, it looked as though nothing had changed. There was a lapse between when David was anointed to when his appointment came full circle. This happens in our lives, too. We know we are anointed for something, but we must go through a period between the anointing and the appointing. When you’re anointed, you’re set apart for a purpose. An appointment is the time when that purpose comes forth. It’s in the season of waiting when the voices can get very strong–when we have to battle voices that come against our God-given destiny.
Battling the voice of self-doubt…
There’s a quote that states we will have voices of self-doubt that come against our destiny, but we have to make sure our voice isn’t one of them. We must believe in the anointing and calling on our lives and hold our peace. That can only be done by diminishing self-doubt. When a negative thought comes in, don’t catch it… take it captive. Don’t focus on what you may have done wrong, instead focus on the things Jesus is perfecting through you right now!
Battling the voice of others…
Voices of others can make us feel as though we always need approval or validation. Don’t be like the double-minded man, seeking to please or do something exactly like someone else. God doesn’t ask for other people’s opinions. He created you on purpose for a purpose (Ephesians 2:10). Friend, stop trying to operate in someone else’s armor…it doesn’t fit you. If God anointed you for something, you don’t need to be discovered by another human being on earth; you serve an audience of one.
Battling the voice of the enemy…
The enemy wants you to agree with him so he can rob you of your faith and hope. The enemy’s voice in your life is one of complete destruction. His attacks will often be strongest in the spot between your anointing and appointing. He is the father of lies, and he wants to get you so heartsick and in despair that you take your eyes off God. If you’re facing the voice of the enemy, turn the narrative, and turn your focus back to the author and Creator.
Though battles will come between the anointing and the appointing, keep getting up! The only way the enemy can win is if you quit. You serve a God who sees, hears, and answers your cry. Stay in the game, operate in the anointing, and refuse to agree with the wrong voices.
