SHOW NOTES:

Is there a promise in your heart that feels it has expired or is long overdue? Does it feel like you’ve been in the waiting season forever?

We’ve all waited on God. We may feel ready, but a refining process needs to occur. God wants to mature us and mature our faith in the waiting seasons.

Every promise God gives us is an invitation to a process in our lives to prepare us for that promise. Waiting positions our hearts so that we trust and lean into Him. Waiting seasons realign our perspective, reminding us that we are truly not in control of our lives. Even when we don’t understand the timing or feel that He is late, waiting makes us trust that God’s timing is perfect.

Yes, you may have been carrying the promise for a long time, waiting and waiting, but the waiting season is not a wasted season. In the waiting, God is still working. He is moving, and you’re making progress towards the promise. If you’ve been waiting for a breakthrough, be encouraged, time is not being wasted. God is working on your behalf.

In the waiting season, remember God’s character…

  1. God’s timing is perfect. There is an appointed time for a promise’s fulfillment and for every answered prayer to break through in your life (Habakkuk 2:3), so wait patiently knowing God is good.

There are no deadlines to God’s promises over your life. Rest assured knowing God will not let a promise go past its “due date.” If you’ve ever felt like God is late or maybe even that He misheard your prayer, remember, that some of the promises God gives you will have a quicker turnaround because they do not take as long to cultivate them as the big things we carry.

  2. God is not impatient. God knows the Kingdom timeline. He is not impatient with us, so we shouldn’t be impatient with the promise. He is working all things together for the good of our behalf (Romans 8:28).

  3. God’s timing is honest. God doesn’t play games or manipulate us; His intention toward you is good, and His love and plans for us are perfect.

  4. God’s judgment is never clouded, nor is He ever influenced by circumstances that seem to interject in the promise. He will adjust circumstances for your promise to be fulfilled.

  5. God only has you in mind; there is no competition. It can be easy to get discouraged if other people around you have had their promises fulfilled, however, stay focused on what God is doing in your life. He watches over each of our lives individually. Keep your eyes on what God has called you to do.

There is always a purpose behind God’s timing, no matter what. His timing is perfect, and it never has strings attached. Instead, God’s timing reflects His goodness in our lives.

Rest and allow yourself to enjoy the season towards the promise with joy. While you wait, don’t worry. Keep doing what you’re doing, sow the right seeds, and don’t grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). He will always keep His promise to you.
