Show Notes:
God has given us a responsibility to ask Him, “What is it that you have for me for this upcoming year?” God doesn’t want us to be passive about what we desire for our future. Instead, He urges us to be specific down to every last detail.
While we may be waiting on Him, He is waiting on us. Rather than saying, “Whatever will be will be,” take a proactive approach to setting the course for your New Year. Just as a captain is intentional while steering the ship where he wants it to sail, we must live our lives with an on-purpose mentality.
With the New Year fast approaching, set aside time to listen to what God would like to do in your life in 2024. When you pray and perceive and plan and prepare for what God wants to do, you’re setting yourself up for the best year yet!
Point #1 - Pray and perceive what God wants to do in your best year yet.
To be successful in the year ahead, set a vision for multiple areas in your life. Set a vision for your family, ministry, job, and personal life, and discipline yourself enough to seek the Lord, pray for the vision, and then get divine strategy for that vision. Be like David who inquired of the Lord in every new season or when faced with a decision that had to be made. Ask God what it is He has for you. The more you seek Him, the more you’ll be able to perceive what He’s calling you to.
Just as He answered the Psalmist when they sought the Lord, He will answer you if you only search for Him. Don’t underestimate the power of asking in prayer. The Lord shares His secrets with His friends; this may start with scripture or an inclination in your spirit.
To set yourself up for the best year yet, be sure to seek, perceive, and diligently seek Him.
Point #2- Plan and prepare for your best year yet.
God is waiting for us to put a plan in place and structure our lives around the plan He has for us. God doesn’t work backward. That means He watches how well we steward what He has already given us.
God is a God of order, the more we structure our lives, the easier the anointing–or oil– can flow. Structure begins by creating simple habits that support the calling and plan God has for your life. Twenty minutes of productivity towards the vision add up! Habits either support or frustrate the calling of God in your life, so don’t underestimate the power of twenty!
Friend, don’t overcomplicate the plans He has for you. When you seek God, your desires are filtered through Him. God gives you the desires of your heart so that He can fulfill them and show His faithfulness! In 2024, reflect on what it is that you should do more or less of. What is it that you should start doing or stop doing? With God, all things are possible. Structure your life to support the plan God has for you in your every day, and if you allow Him, He will take the boundaries off of your life to help you grow this year like never before.
