What Are You Expecting?

What are you expecting?

Expectation positions your heart in a place of faith to believe that what you are hoping for will come to pass!

Recently, I placed an order for one of my children, and the package was to be delivered to my home. After waiting the expected 7-10 mailing days, it did not come. I called the company to find out where the merchandise was that I had paid for. After correcting a shipping error, the merchandise was sent. I was expecting the package because it was paid in full and promised to be delivered, I was waiting in expectation for it to arrive.

Many of us aren't expecting the things we believe God for to actually arrive in our lives. We may hope they arrive, but we may not fully embrace the fact that the covenant promises we have are fully paid for and guaranteed through Jesus. We dismiss expectation.

"Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about the things we can not see."  Hebrews 11:1

Expectation is a demonstration of faith. It moves us from believing something could or may happen to anticipating and awaiting for what you are believing for to actually show up in your life!

Just as you can expect the good promises of God to come to pass in your life, you can also use your expectation in a negative way if you're not careful. If you are always negative and speaking doubt and unbelief, these are the results you will get.

"...the tongue can bring death or life, those who love to talk will reap the consequences".  Proverbs 18:21 NLT

What you are speaking is what you are expecting! Meditate on God's Word and renew your mind with the covenant promises and plans He has for you! God's Word planted in your heart and spoken from your lips will deliver good things in your life!

Don't let discouragement or disappointment from the past keep you from faith and expectation for what God wants to do in your life! Instead, focus on God's promises and trust in His timing! He is fully capable to do that which He promised  (Rom 4:21 ).

Set your heart in a place of expectation! God doesn't set you up for disappointment; trust Him! Anticipate and expect God to work in His perfect timing for your life!
