Our Love for Jesus

When February comes around, it’s hard not to think about love. So, like most of you, it has got me thinking about love, but not just the romantic kind. I started to think about all the different kinds of love we have and display on a daily basis; while it’s all love, It’s all different. As a wife, mom, daughter, friend, and many more titles, all of those loves are different, and I show them in different ways. Aside from people, there are things and activities that I love; such as wearing a new comfy outfit or going out to eat for a delicious meal.

All of this got me thinking even deeper, “What would someone else say that I love if they were asked the question?” I know growing up, just about anyone who knew me would say that I love to dance. Now, 15 years later, they might say I love my kids or my husband. While it’s fairly standard that one would love their husband and kids, it’s grand when that love is shone so clearly that others notice.

I then wondered how long It would take for them to mention that I love Jesus. Is my love for Jesus shone and expressed as clearly as my love for my family or my love for a good meal? One could say that when you love Jesus, your love looks different, which I would agree with, but is it clear that love is the result of loving Jesus?

How long would it take someone to mention you love Jesus? This is a challenge to myself and hoping you’ll join me this month, to take a look at love and the love you give to the people and things around you. While it all may look different, feel different, and expressed differently – it all comes from 1 Corinthians 13 and God’s perfect design of love. I’m going to challenge myself and you to love in such a way that it is clear that you not only love Jesus but that your love comes from Him.

Happy love month and just in case no one has told you lately…Jesus loves you!
