Breakthrough Prayer: Learning to Pray with Power

Do you have trouble praying? Do you feel like your prayers are hitting the ceiling?

You shouldn't leave your prayer time feeling discouraged and hopeless. There is a way to pray that guarantees you are praying God's will and creates a prayer life of authority and power! 

A motivation to pray is to know that your prayers are actually making a difference. If you feel like your prayer life isn't yielding effectiveness or power, ask yourself, "Does what I'm praying have a scriptural principle found in the Bible that I can stand on?" Then ask, "Do I truly believe that God's Word is true?" 

Your faith is the activating power to release God's plan and covenant promises on the earth!  The Bible says in Hebrews that without faith it is impossible to please God! The key to breakthrough prayer is learning to pray from scripture! Prayer isn't a thoughtless chant that you recite, it's understanding God's word and applying it to your life!

"God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?" Numbers 23:19

God is bound to his Word and will carefully see it come to pass. When you leave scripture out of your prayer time, you have nothing substantial to stand on.

Your prayers become more like a wish list. You may wonder does God hear me? Does he even want to answer me? There is-- however-- a way to be absolutely sure you are praying God's will and that your prayers will be answered. That way is standing on covenant promises! 

"For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "YES in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God." 2 Corinthians 1:20

Prayer is not a chant that you recite void of understanding; prayer is activation of power! All of the covenant promises are yours in the Bible through the finished work of Jesus! The 'Amen' 2 Corinthians refers to is our faith saying, "It is true Lord and I will see that promise manifest in my life!" It's God's covenant promises combined with our faith that brings breakthrough!

Open your Bible up! If you aren't familiar with God's Word enough to pray it, look up a scripture according to the topic you are praying about. Find a covenant promise in God's Word about that situation and pray it out!

Your faith combined with the Word of God produces powerful and effective prayers. Don't stay frustrated and at a level where you aren't seeing breakthrough in the things you are believing God for; back them with the very Word of God!
