The Mrs. Rev Podcast: No More Chaos

Mrs Rev Podcast No More Chaos

Is there an area of your life that is constantly causing you frustration? You likely have a lot of things on your plate, but you need to remember that your life doesn’t run you. You run your life! You have authority in your home and you have the power to change any frustrating area by bringing order to your life.

Instead of giving up or blaming your upbringing when things feel frustrated, ask God for wisdom on how you can get things in order. When you feel frustrated, the first thing you should do is pray. God is a God of order and peace. He wants you to live in a calm, peaceful environment where you can hear Him clearly. He wants every season of life to be one where you produce fruit.

If you want to bring order to your life, you need to:

  1. Take responsibility

  2. Ask God for wisdom

  3. Listen

Q: What area of your life is causing frustration? Of the three things listed above, what do you think you need to do to change your situation? Are you blaming your circumstances? Have you been trying to do it on your own? Or do you need to listen and follow through on what God has told you to do? Take that area to the Lord in prayer and write down one action step you can do this week to start to change that frustrating area.

“They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.” Psalm 1:3

God teaches us to prosper

1. By His Word

James 1:22-24 tells us, “don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.” You have to keep your eyes focus on God and what His Word says so that you remember who you are in Him and what He has called you to do. He will give you divine instruction on how to raise children, be a good wife, and follow Him when you read His Word.

2. By His Spirit

“Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: ‘I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go.’” Isaiah 48:17 (ESV)

The Spirit of God will alert you to areas of your life that need attention. He will even help you see what is going on behind closed doors so that you can expose it and keep your family out of harm’s way.

3. Through other people

“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens the other.” Proverbs 27:17

When you are confident in who God has called you to be, you can learn from other women without getting stuck in the trap of comparison. God will give you people in your life who will teach you.

It is your responsibility to watch who you surround yourself with both in-person and on social media. Remember that you will become what you behold. So, if you are surrounded by negative women, you will become negative! But if you surround yourself with positive, God-fearing women, people who have a life you would love to have, you will begin to take hold of that life for yourself.

It is not always easy to bring order to your life. But just like runners discipline their bodies, we need to discipline our flesh so that we can become all that God has called us to be (1 Corinthians 9:27). Sometimes you have to make yourself do something you don’t want to do because you know that the results are worth it.

Today, choose to draw a line in the sand like Joshua and say, “As for me and my house, I’m taking responsibility. I’m going to get myself, my home in order.” Holy Spirit will teach you, empower you, and give you the grace you need.

Pray this: Father God, thank you for caring enough about me that you gave me your Word and your Spirit. Thank you for caring about even the small details in my life. My heart’s desire is to please you. Today, I give you the areas of my life that seem frustrating and overwhelming, and I choose to be still and listen to your instruction. Give me the grace to take authority in my home and to see real change. Thank you for speaking through your Word, your Spirit, and the women that you have put in my life to encourage me. I know that the best is yet to come! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
