We are believing that this year will be your banner year, an exceptionally good year where you will experience acceleration in every area of your life. In today’s episode, I sat down with my friend and coworker in the faith, Adalis Shuttlesworth. We talked about how fasting and prayer will not only change you, but change your life, your position, and your destiny.

Sometimes people feel like fasting and prayer is not for them, but God created it for all of us! Christians are instructed to pray and fast. They are non-negotiable! When you fast and pray, you will see an accelerated increase and freedom in your life. Issues you dealt with for years can be changed in just one day of fasting and prayer. If you are nursing or pregnant, you can still receive more from God by increasing your time in the Bible and in prayer. Do not let anything be an excuse for why you are not seeking God with all of your heart.

“There is a grace to work, but you have to do the work and find your part. Your banner year, the best year ever, your year of supernatural acceleration will only happen when it is connected to the kingdom of God.” - Pastor Joie Miller

Q: Doing the same thing and expecting new things to happen will never create change. So, what do you have to do as a woman of God to get to the next level? Write down what you are asking God for and then write down what you can do to prepare for the blessing and responsibility you will have when God answers your prayer.

When you hear your pastor’s vision, you need to grab onto it and align your expectations. Take their word to God and ask him for specific direction and clarity on how the word applies to you. Get rid of the limitations! If there are limitations in your mind, you won’t be able to receive anything from God. You need to ready yourself and prepare so that when your moment comes, you are ready.

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9

“Then it will be a private matter. And your Father, who sees what you do in private, will reward you.” Matthew 6:4

God is looking for people who are fully devoted to Him and to His plans. If you don’t feel like you are ready to fulfill every dream God has put in your heart, take time to prepare! Learn a new skill. Spend more time in the Word. Look for opportunities to serve God where you are now. Obedience matters to God, and when you are faithful with what you have now, God will reward you and take you to the next level.

“Be ready in season and out of season.” 2 Timothy 4:2

Do not think that just because you are not in ministry, you are a stay at home mom, or you do not have the same strengths as someone else that God doesn’t need you. In the last days, God has a role for everyone to play. Everyone has an area of influence, something God has called them to do.

Q: Where do you have influence? What is preventing you from using your influence to build God’s Kingdom? Take the limitations off your mind and allow God to show you how you can use your area of influence to build His kingdom.

Pray this: God, my heart’s desire is to be used by you. Show me what it means for this year to be my banner year. Show me how you want to use me, and even use me where I am now, in the grocery store, at work, in my home. Thank you for the plans that you have for me and the ways that you will use me in the future. Lord, show me any area of my life that is unpleasing for you so that I can be righteous before you and prepared to do what you have called me to do. You are a great God and I am so thankful you put me on the Earth for this era of time. I am looking forward with expectation for everything you will do this year! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
