SHOW NOTES:
In today's fast-paced world, life can make you feel as though you’re behind. Maybe you didn’t get saved until the latter part of your life or perhaps you made some decisions that, in hindsight, you wouldn’t have made. Maybe you received a promise from God that hasn’t come forth when you imagined. Let this be a reminder that God can restore anything and everything, and His timing is perfect.
If you want to talk about feeling as though you’re behind, look no further than the story of Joseph in the Bible. Just as He worked all things together for Joseph’s good, God is working all things together for you too.
Joseph experienced betrayal, false accusations, being forgotten, and a dream that seemed far out of reach. Like Joseph, your situation may seem like God is moving you backward or circumstances are diminishing rather than improving. Let Joseph’s story encourage you that every step–when stewarded from a place of faith and steadfastness—propelled him toward the promise! God is working in even the most adverse circumstances.
So what do you do when you feel behind?
Don’t lose focus on the dream. If the enemy can get you to stop focusing on the desire from Him, he can make you feel so discouraged that you want to quit. Joseph never questioned God in the trials, instead he kept a steadfast mindset in the God he served. Joseph continued moving forward.
If you feel like you’re behind, the worst thing you can do is stop. Instead, walk forward in faith and righteousness. Remember, God is the author and perfecter of your faith, and He is working it all out in His time.
