What Is Limiting You?

What’s limiting you? God’s Word says, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has in store for those who love Him and are called according to His purposes.” 1 Corinthians 2:9

The Bible is very clear that God has big plans for you, so what is the limiting factor? When it comes to putting limits on God I think of Abram. In Genesis 15, God reveals Himself to Abram as his shield and very great reward. Abram goes on to say, “but God, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?” Abram was putting limits on God. How many times do we do the same thing? God will give us a glimpse of the great plan He has for our lives and we continue to put up boundaries by our “but God” statements.

In Genesis 15:4-5, God goes on to promise Abram that he would have a son of his own. To ensure that Abram was thinking on the same lines as He was, God took Abram outside, away from the boundaries and small atmosphere of the tent to see the vastness of the sky. The tent was a limited space compared to the illustration that God wanted Abram to understand. God’s plan transcended anything Abram could imagine. What is your tent? What is speaking limits to God’s plan for you?

Is it limited thinking?

Maybe nobody in your family has accomplished anything close to what you feel like God wants to do through you. Maybe you can’t imagine yourself being qualified or capable to conceive God’s plan. The limits that you see in the natural don’t mean anything to God! He is the One that makes the impossible possible! Your responsibility is to simply believe!

Is it limiting people?

When God wants to do something greater in your life, one of the first things He changes is the people you are surrounded by. Statistically, you will be the average sum of the five closest people in your life. Who are these people to you? Are they encouraging and sharpening you to achieve your dreams? The Bible says that as iron sharpens iron, one man sharpens another. The people around you will either hold you back or push you forward!

Is it limited resources?

Are you waiting for everything to line up before you dare to believe God? Is your motto see and then believe? God calls us to believe and then we will see! First comes vision, and then comes the provision for your God-sized dream. Stepping out in faith means taking the first step, even if you can’t quite see what’s next! God is faithful, if He calls you to it, He will also provide!

Take every limit off today! God is going to do exceedingly more than you could ever ask, think, or imagine!!!
